One of the important things that nobody discusses is after-purchase hassles.

Janome sewing machines are reliable sewing machines and there are very few cases when people face problems with their sewing machine after the purchase.

Sewing and Quilting  Machine with Detachable extension table

Janome HW8100 is a sewing machine that can be used for quilting as well. It is shipped with an extension table that you can attach or detach when needed.

For example, if you are sewing a small dress for your little girl, you can use the sewing machine without the extension table as you wouldn’t be required to sew a large piece of fabric.

However, for making quilts, you need a fairly big table to comfortably spread the quilt. In that case, you can attach the table.

Easy Storage

Janome JW8100 has a really good design and it is a great choice for those who want a sewing machine that can be stored in a small area.

With the dimensions of 16″ x 7″ x 12″ and about 20 pounds, it can be stored in a cupboard and your small sewing machine cabinet.

Heavy-duty metal frame

The heavy-duty metallic frame accounts for the durability and stability of the sewing machine while in use.

Some sewing machines are so lightweight that they cramp when you stitch at full speed. The heavy-duty metallic frame also helps in skip-free stitching.

Built-in Stitches

One of the important features of the sewing machine which grabs customers’ attention in many cases is the built-in stitches.

The thumb rule is, that the more the number of built-in stitches, the higher the price of a sewing machine.

This is not true in this case! Janome JW8100 sewing and quilting machine comes with 100 built-in stitches which are quite good for a sewing machine under this price range.

Among these 100 built-in stitches, you have plenty of them for regular fashion sewing, quilting, home decor, buttonholes, and heirlooms.

7 styles of 1-step automatic buttonholes

Even some of the high-end sewing machines don’t come with 7 styles of buttonholes but Janome JW8100 has it.

You have 7 different choices to choose from when it comes to the buttonholes.

Computerized Sewing Machine with Back-lit LCD Touchscreen

How convenient it becomes when you have a touchscreen to control different things.

Janome JW8100 sewing machine is a computerized sewing machine with a fairly big back-lit LCD Touchscreen that lets you choose the stitch of your choice.

You can also control stitch length and width with touch buttons.

The LCD touchscreen also displays which stitch you have selected and above the stitches, you can read other information as well.

Set Needle preference- Up/ Down

Janome JW8100 comes with memorized needle position features. You can either choose to keep the needle up or down based on the requirements.

For example, if you are doing free-arm sewing, you can choose to set the needle down however in case you want to remove the piece of fabric, you can set the needle position up. Easy Peasy!

Stitching Speed

Also, stitching speed is one of the important features for many sewists.

It may not bother the newbie but for the experts, this sewing machine is an ideal choice too, the stitching speed is a deciding factor.

Janome JW8100 has a stitching speed of 850 stitches per minute which makes it comparatively faster than similar sewing machines.

Stitch speed controller

While this sewing machine is a real workhorse and is able to sew at 850 stitches per minute, it is not beyond your control.

Janome JW8100 comes with a speed-controlling slider that lets you set stitching speed as per the requirement.

If you are new, you can set it to low and the experts can set it to high.

Convenient On/Off/Reverse stitching Buttons

This is something I love the most about the Janome JW8100 sewing machine. The On/ Off button is given just adjacent to the needle which is pretty convenient.

Janome JW8100 Convenient Buttons

Little away, you have a push-button for reverse stitching. The reverse stitching feature is pretty helpful to reinforce the stitch.

Automatic Needle threader

This is yet another feature that I always want on my sewing machine. The automatic needle threader makes the use of a sewing machine simpler.

It’s a savior for the people who have a weak eye vision problem and for those who don’t want to stress their eyes.

Other Features

There are plenty of other features that you must know about. They are…

  • Seven-piece feeding system.
  • Attachable Stitch chart.
  • Jam-resistant, horizontal loading bobbin system.
  • Free arm for cuffs and sleeves.
  • Transparent bobbin covers to monitor the supply of the thread.
  • Automatic optimum stitch settings.
  • Manual thread tension controller.
  • Hardcover included.

Pros & Cons

If we talk about the Pros and Cons of the Janome JW8100 sewing machine, I’d say it’s a computerized sewing machine with an LCD touchscreen for easy and convenient operation.

Also, it comes with convenient control buttons that make sewing even more entertaining.

There are no cons as such. The sewing has a manual thread tension controller instead of an automatic one.

However, some people find it more convenient to have a manual thread tension controller.

Conclusion

Janome JW8100 is a great sewing machine with a lot of interesting features for everyone.

With 100 built-in stitches and 850 stitches per minute speed, Janome JW8100 helps you showcase your crafting skills to people.

It is a computerized sewing machine with an LCD touchscreen to control different features.
