SINGER 4423 Vs 4432 – SIMILARITIES

SINGER is one of the best sewing machine makers in the world with plenty of great award-winning models such as SINGER 9960 & SINGER 7258.

When it comes to heavy-duty sewing machines, the “44” series sewing machines are the perfect choice for those who are beginners and don’t want to spend a big amount of money to get a heavy-duty sewing machine.

The “44” series has several models such as SINGER 4411, 4423, 4432, 4452, etc. However, this post focuses on SINGER 4423 Vs 4432, so let’s check them out.

The twins have the following similarities. Why I call them twins because they are the same in dimensions, weight, the material they are made of & many features (except 1 primarily that I’ve discussed under the “DIFFERENCES” section below)

  • Design

Both of them have the exact same design, they look identical and it becomes hard to tell which sewing machine model is put in front of you until check for it.

There is only a slight difference in the body color which is not easily recognizable. Apart from that both of them have the same dimensions as well as weight. That is why I called them twins above.

  • Stitching Speed

Both are capable of sewing with a speed of 1,100 stitches per minute which is way faster than other sewing machines which are available at the same price or at a higher price.

Some of SINGER’s high-end models such as the SINGER 9960 that I’ve mentioned above have a sewing speed of 850 stitches per minute.

  • Heavy Duty

Both of them have a heavy-duty metal frame which ensures, they last longer than other sewing machines.

Because of the heavy-duty metal frames, these sewing machines are used by professional sewists as well as they are being used in a garment factories. They are capable of handling thick materials such as Denim & Leather.

  • Automatic Needle threader

SINGER 4423, as well as 4432 sewing machines, comes with an Automatic Needle threader which is a good feature for beginner sewists. The beginners generally find it hard to thread the needle as they aren’t much use-to to a sewing machine. So having an automatic needle threader is beneficial for beginner sewists.

  • Buttonhole Type

Another great similarity and advantage of these sewing machines are 1 step- fully automatic buttonhole.

This is again a good feature for beginners as well as intermediate sewists. This feature eases the process of making the buttonhole.

  • Adjustable Stitch Length

Both the sewing machines have the dial given at the front which can be used for adjusting the stitch length easily.

  • Free Arm

The free Arm is an important feature of any sewing machine. Many times we need to sew hard-to-reach areas such as Sleeves, Collars & Cuffs. The Free Arm feature makes sure you

  • Reverse Stitch?

One of the biggest advantages of SINGER 4423 & 4432 sewing machines is, that they both are good at reverse stitching.

The reverse stitching feature reinforces the stitches to let you make sure that two pieces of clothes have been completely sewn with each other.

SINGER 4423 Vs 4432 – DIFFERENCES

Here comes the differences part. I am sure you were more interested in knowing the differences.

However, it might be a bit of disappointment for some people knowing there are not huge differences between both and that’s the reason why I called them twins.

However, whatever the differences are, they are discussed below.

  • Built-In Stitches

There is only one difference between SINGER 4423 and 4432 sewing machines and that is built-in stitches.

While the built-in stitches are the most important feature of any sewing machine, there are not many extra stitches you will get in case you buy the costlier one among these two.

SINGER 4423 built-in Stitches

SINGER 4423 sewing machine has 23 built-in stitches that include 12 decoratives, 6 basic, 4 stretch & 1 buttonhole stitch.

However, SINGER 4432 comes with 32 built-in stitches which include 18 decorative, 7 stretch, 6 basic, and 1 buttonhole stitch.

So there is only one difference between the built-in stitches that you get extra in SINGER 4432, the rest of the things are almost the same.

As far as the price is concern, there is a slight difference of a few bucks between the two.

Our Say

Both the sewing machines are good on their own and there is not much difference between the two.

SINGER 4423 is a great sewing machine with 23 built-in stitches, however, if foresee the need for more decorative stitches, you can plan to buy SINGER 4432.

In our opinion, there is no big price difference and if you could extend your budget a bit more, go for SINGER 4432

Conclusion

When it comes to heavy-duty sewing machines, SINGER’s “44” series sewing machines are a good choice because they can handle thick material pretty easily.

However, when it comes to knowing which sewing machine out of these two is the best, it purely depends on the budget of the user and the requirement of built-in stitches.

If you are looking to buy a sewing machine for your home and see there will not be much use for decorative stitches, you can go for SINGER 4423, else SINGER 4432!
